Supporting Doctors: The IDF’s Commitment to Mental Health and Wellbeing

The IDF's commitment to supporting our Doctors

In the UK, doctors across all healthcare settings – from the NHS to private providers – face immense pressures in their day-to-day work. The demands of a career in healthcare can lead to significant challenges, including burnout and emotional exhaustion, which affect both personal and professional lives. These challenges aren’t isolated to the workplace; many doctors juggle additional responsibilities and pressures outside of work, often with limited time to focus on their own wellbeing.

The IDF recognises these challenges and is deeply committed to providing support resources that make a positive impact. We understand that mental health support for healthcare professionals is essential, and our goal is to prioritize this for our members, contributing to a healthier and more resilient workforce.

While some stigma around mental health still exists, we know that real progress depends on open conversation and transformation change. The IDF is committed to working with healthcare leaders to break down these barriers, encouraging open discussions about mental health and wellbeing within the medical community.

Our vision, is a healthcare system where all practitioners feel empowered to seek support without fear or stigma.
